Who We Are

The Fulforth Centre is owned and managed jointly by Sacriston Community & Sports Trust & Sacriston Community Association. We are an independent and self-sustaining charity/company based within The Fulforth Centre. We are made up of a variety of volunteer trustees, a Project Development Worker and a small staff team. Our aim is to support and lead regeneration and community development for the village of Sacriston and its residents.

What We Do

📷 Open 7 days per week, we offer over 30 low cost sessions every week including a Ladies Club, Camera Club, Arts & Craft Clubs, fitness and dance classes.

☕ We run a community café on a Saturday morning, and a twice-weekly Lunch Club.

🎉 We are available to hire for classes, events, parties and meetings.

💻 We have 6 community laptops available for members of the community to use here at the communty centre.

🍳 We have over 30 active volunteers who undertake a variety of tasks, ranging from gardening and cooking in our community kitchen, to administrative work.

👣 We have an average footfall of over 400 per week.

🎄 We host large scale community events such as the Christmas Extravaganza and Party in the Park, as well as regular fundraising events.

🏫 We work with other organisations in our community such as Sacriston Parish Council, schools, churches and Sacriston Medical Centre, to provide a holistic approach to community development.

🧍We host NHS Health & Wellbeing and Employability Drop-in sessions, helping people in the local community to access help and support more easily.

🏠 We work with local partners, ranging from Chester-le-Street AAP and Karbon Homes, to local charitable companies including Live Well North East, in decision making on local issues and delivering local services. We also work with national partners such as Age UK and the NHS to help address national agenda items such as deprivation and social isolation.
