The Fulforth Centre is owned and managed jointly by Sacriston Community & Sports Trust & Sacriston Community Association. We are an independent and self-sustaining charity/company based within The Fulforth Centre. We are made up of a variety of volunteer trustees and a development worker. Our aim is to support and lead regeneration and community development for the village of Sacriston and its residents.
Open 6 days per week, offering nearly 30 low cost sessions every week ranging from bingo to theatre school, and ASD Support Group to new Age Kurling.
We have 25 + active volunteers who undertake tasks from gardening and DIY to administrative work.
An average footfall of over 400 per week.
Host large scale community events such as the Christmas Extravaganza and Party in the Park.
Host regular fundraising events.
Raised nearly £1.2 million capital funds to provide extensive community recreation facilities.
Work with other organisations in our community such as Sacriston Parish, schools, churches and Sacriston Medical Centre to provide a holistic approach to community development.
Work with local partners such as Chester-le-Street AAP and Cestria Community Housing in decision making on local issues and delivering local services.
Work with national partners such as Age UK, Mind and the NHS to help address national agenda items such as deprivation and social isolation.
